EWB-Lebanon is a non-profit, non-political group of young engineers believing in the necessity of making a change to make world a better place and willing to use their scientific and technical knowledge aiming to help unfortunate and disadvantaged communities in Lebanon and the region.
Established in 2009, EWB-Lebanon consists of a network of universities with more than 250 members from different engineering disciplines.
EWB-Lebanon has implemented several projects on sustainable development, including one as an apiarian project entitled “Beekeeping for Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Rural Livelihood“, and another as a solar application for an elderly home. The group also introduced a unique multi-purpose bicycle to rural communities known as the “Turbocycler I” which can be used for cycling, for pumping water and producing electricity.
